Control Based on the Modification of the Relation between the Reaction Force and the Human Force and its Effects on the Weight Perception

چکیده
With the evolution of the family structure and the increasing longevity, our society is relying more and more on power assist devices. Since these devices are meant to work in cooperation with the user, considering only the characteristics of the device is not enough, the human response must also be taken into account. However, the weight perception is commonly affected by illusions, like the Charpentier effect. When no power assistance is supplied, the relation between the reaction force and the human force is linear. The objective of the experiment reported on this paper was to determine how the modification of such linearity affected the perceived weight when lifting an object with a 1DOF power assist device. For this, in the control, 7 modifying symmetric pairs of equations and 1 equation without modification were tested. The symmetry of the equations was relative to the characteristic curve between the reaction force and the human force. Besides the perceived weights, the position, acceleration, reaction and human force were recorded. The results showed that, albeit the detaching phase is brief, modifying the linearity between the reaction and the human force affects proportionally the weight perception.

Objective: Every person is required to walk and stand for long periods of time during daily activities, especially at work, as a result of which ground reaction force to the parts and joints is very high, and these forces sometimes reach several times the body weight in the foot and the ankle foot can have devastating effects. Various studies have suggested different methods and factors for red...

Background: Anterior cruciate ligament injury is one of the most common injuries of the knee joint and prevention of this injury is of great importance(1). Considering that ground reaction forces are one of the load factors on the anterior cruciate ligament, Despite much research in this field to prevent ACL injury, the prevalence of this injury is still high(2). For example, previous studies h...

Genu varus is one of the malalignment of the lower limbs, the failure to correct it leads to secondary abnormalities in adulthood. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a corrective exercise program on ground reaction forces, loading rates, impulses and free moment during stance phase of walking. 17 children with genu varus were volunteered to participate in this study (Ag...
متن کاملSynthesis of human facial expressions based on the distribution of elastic force applied by control points
Facial expressions play an essential role in delivering emotions. Thus facial expression synthesis gain interests in many fields such as computer vision and graphics. Facial actions are generated by contraction and relaxation of the muscles innervated by facial nerves. The combination of those muscle motions is numerous. therefore, facial expressions are often person specific. But in general, f...
